What began as one after-school program has grown into a multi-district investment bringing opportunity, mentorship, and the beautiful game to thousands of North Texas students.
On February 5, Atlético Dallas and the Garland ISD Education Foundation celebrated the next chapter of a partnership that began with a simple question: How can we help more kids play?
Last year, after partnering with Caldwell Elementary on an after-school soccer initiative, it became clear that the enthusiasm extended far beyond one campus. That original program, and the celebration that followed, inspired a larger commitment.

In response, Atlético Dallas pledged $75,000 over three years to expand access to after-school soccer programming for elementary and middle school students across Garland ISD. Earlier this month, that investment moved into its next phase.
Representatives from Atlético Dallas and the Garland ISD Education Foundation visited seven campuses to award the first round of grants through the district’s formal grant process:
- Herfurth Elementary
- Lister Elementary
- Spring Creek Elementary
- Bradfield Elementary
- Freeman at Golden Meadows Elementary
- Caldwell Elementary
- Southgate Elementary
Funds will support essential program elements including equipment, uniforms, transportation, and operational costs, thus removing barriers that often prevent schools from launching extracurricular opportunities.

But the impact doesn’t stop in Garland.
Atlético Dallas has also partnered with Dallas Parks & Recreation Department and Dallas ISD, pledging $100,000 to support one of the most unique youth soccer structures in the region.
This heavily subsidized program includes:
- A citywide recreational league serving approximately 1,800 youth players
- A dedicated Dallas ISD elementary school league serving another 1,800 students
- Participation from more than 50 elementary schools each season
By creating a league exclusively for Dallas ISD elementary schools, students have the opportunity to represent their campuses, compete against neighboring schools, and build school pride – all within an affordable, accessible framework.
Across both Garland and Dallas, that’s nearly 4,000 children per season gaining access to structured play, mentorship, teamwork, and confidence-building experiences.
From one elementary campus to thousands of students across North Texas, Atlético Dallas is building more than a professional soccer club – we are investing in the future of the game at its foundation.
This is what community-first engagement looks like. And this is only the beginning.

En respuesta, Atlético Dallas comprometió $75,000 durante tres años para ampliar el acceso a programas de fútbol extracurricular para estudiantes de primaria y secundaria en todo Garland ISD. A principios de este mes, esa inversión entró en su siguiente etapa.

Al crear una liga exclusivamente para escuelas primarias de Dallas ISD, los estudiantes tienen la oportunidad de representar a su escuela, competir contra planteles vecinos y fortalecer el orgullo escolar — todo dentro de un modelo accesible y asequible para las familias.
Entre Garland y Dallas, esto representa casi 4,000 niños cada temporada que ahora tienen acceso a juego estructurado, mentoría, trabajo en equipo y experiencias que fortalecen su confianza.
De un solo plantel a miles de estudiantes en todo el Norte de Texas, Atlético Dallas está construyendo algo más que un club profesional — estamos invirtiendo en el futuro del fútbol desde su base.
